The 2020 Good Practices in Non-Sexist Communication award from the Association of Women Journalists of Catalonia is the icing on the cake of three intense years since we joined as Storydata . We have always seen data from a gender perspective , from day one.
Some of the projects with women and data that we have carried out have been, for example, “ Vol. 7: Open data and artificial intelligence, tools for gender equality ”, or the collaboration with Digital Fems to contribute to the large project of “Data against noise” , a platform that makes visible the information published by the judicial system and the police on gender-based violence .
And, as we have for some time, we have published articles during confinement and Covid-19 with a gender perspective in Crític , such as highlighting how mortality data becomes more feminine than masculine during the pandemic .
